Research in Motion Ltd, along with the Canadian and United States government, are discussing talks with the Persian Gulf and South Asian authorities over the possibility of banning Blackberry services in that region. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will suspend Blackberry’s services, a country where mobile cell phones, particularly the blackberry, are already a very important part of day to day business.
The blackberry users in the Saudi Arabian kingdom mentioned losing access to their mobile phone signal for a part of the day, and it was restored at around 1 pm. Despite the fact that it was restored, it still had a major interruption on the business dealings that the people had. Indeed, these blocking services have such disadvantages.
Research in Motion Ltd has indeed faced a lot of scrutiny over its services, both messaging and email, from many countries, including India, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. Just recently, Indonesia has also expressed concern over the devices services.
The United Arabs Emirate government and the United States government are holding discussions regarding a possible ban in the UAE of blackberry’s services. This is according to Hillary Clinton, the U.S. secretary of state. Meanwhile, Peter Van Loan, who is the Trade Minister of Canada, is discussing with Research in Motion and foreign governments to find a solution.
