Dell’s Streak Tablet Finally Arrives

0 Comments 18 August 2010

Dell’s Streak Tablet Finally Arrives Finally, after months of waiting which has left consumers wary, restless and relatively unhappy, Dell’s very own tablet computer, the 5 inch Streak tablet, has finally arrived. It will price at 300 dollars, including a 2 year contract with AT &T. Customers have already forgiven Dell for the delay of the release, but there is still a problem.

That problem has something to do with the price of the Streak tablet, it seems to be too expensive for its size, and perhaps its functionalities. Dell’s tablet is almost one half smaller than the most popular touch screen tablet computer right now, the Apple iPad.

There are several concerns regarding the service as well, because it is using AT&T, the same company that the iPhone uses, which has had some problems as of late. Another concern by buyers include the use of Android 1.6. This version of Android is in fact, not the latest version, although Dell plans to upgrade to Android 2.2 late this year.

That’s still a problem, because many smart phones nowadays, including the Droid and the latest Droid 2, is already using Android 2.2. Still, there are several pre sales for the device already, and so they are able to get their purchase this Thursday.
