According to the article 5 of the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights, no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. But in Iran this rule is not being followed by the government.
Sakineh Mohammadie Ashtiani who was a mother of two children at that time could be stoned to death at any moment under the terms of a death sentence which was handed down by the Iranian authorities in 2006. It was because she had an illegal relationship with another guy out of marriage. Ashtiani endured that physical retribution in front of her son in 2006. Her son was of 17 years at that time. He had to see her mother getting the crucial punishment.
Sakineh Ashtiani, the convicted lady is from the northern city of Tabriz and she was convicted of adultery in the year of 2006. Some lawyers who are from human rights believe that a language barrier prohibited her from fully comprehending court dealings at the time. She is of Azerbaijani descent and speaks Turkish in stead of Farsi.
Though this is a crime, one should be punished in limit. The punishment that Iran Government gives to them is too much. So they must stop these activities and should follow the Human Rights’ rules.
