1. Choose your niche: When you are starting off, it is preferable to choose a niche that you already know about. This means that your site should not only include banners and ads of the products that you promote, but also be rich in content that your prospective customers would find interesting. You can weave a story around your affiliate marketing products in such a way that a visitor to your site feels like checking out the product.

4. Beware of Parasites: Once you have a high traffic site and killer content that would motivate your visitors to click through those banners, you want to make sure that the revenue that is due to you actually comes to you. There are parasite programs that can make it look as if traffic originating from your site actually originated elsewhere and thus redirect the money. So make sure that you are protected against these malicious programs.

5. Join forums: Like in any other business, networking helps in affiliate marketing too. Join forums that discuss affiliate marketing. You would get some amazing tips to boost your affiliate marketing success.
